Go Pearcy!

Thursday 25 January 2024

Charlton Women lost their cup match to Brighton 1-2, continuing the disastrous week of results at the club, maybe things will get better at the weekend?

Yesterday’s news that Curtis Fleming and Jason Pearce are to take interim charge of the first team came as no surprise. Will be interesting to see how the team performs under their stewardship. It was something of a surprise to see that in the statement from the Board there is still an intention to ‘further improve the squad’ before the end of the transfer window next week. The team certainly still lack cover at left back and that could be badly exposed on Saturday when Edun will be unavailable.

Tomorrow Marianne and I will be leaving the house early to drive an hour to Dunfermline, where we will leave the car at my eldest daughter Kerry’s house. She will give us a lift to Queen Margaret Station in Dunfermline from where we will catch a train to Leuchars. A short walk from the train station there to join the Fife Coast Path where we begin a five day hike in a clockwise direction (so doing this part of the route in reverse).
All being well we should arrive in Limekilns on Tuesday next week and will continue on to Charlestown for our final night’s stay (at the Inn at Charlestown) before making the short walk back to Dunfermline to pick up our car the next morning.
Fear not my blogs will be dropping onto the website throughout this 80 mile hike.
